Announcing our new content management system (CMS) for food trucks and food truck parks!

When we launched the site and app in late April we knew that the system we created would only be useful if: food truck and food truck park operators had the power to edit their own information; new trucks and parks could sign up to be a part of what we’d built; and, most importantly, hours and locations could be edited on the fly as these migrant deliciousness-factories drive around our fair city.

So today we’re releasing the CMS system—something that’s been in the works since day 1 but that we wanted to perfect before releasing it into the wild.  For users, the CMS means you’re more likely to see up-to-date info on your favorite food trucks and food truck parks.  (It also means you should hassle your favorite trucks and parks about updating their info frequently).

For trucks and parks, the CMS offers:

  • A quick sign up process to add your truck or park to our system in case we missed you
  • An easy interface for editing your truck/park info, including: menulogodescription; food types; Facebook/Twitter/website linksphone number and a bunch of other things
  • scheduling tool that allows you to set hours and locations up to a week in advance, editing those hours and locations at any time

We’re really excited to get this tool out the door and into the hands of the truck and park operators, who have been hugely supportive so far.

We’re not finished making improvements to the site or iOS app.  We’re also still planning on developing a native Android app as soon as time allows (for now, grab our bookmarklet on Google Play).  Thanks for bearing with us as we squeeze in time around our day jobs to make this happen.

Yours in good eatin’,

Taylor and the Sweb team

If you’re a food truck or food truck park operator in our system but you didn’t receive an email from us today, please email info@safoodtruckfinder.com and we’ll follow up.  If you’re not yet in our system, sign up now!

It’s A Food Truck Fiesta!

Few cities around the world have celebrations that last weeks. The festivities are exciting, vibrant and reflect the home city’s culture. The attendees are from all walks of life and the food is always an experience worth delving into. That’s what San Antonio has in Fiesta

Two events that have been on our radar are the King William Fair and Fiesta Fiesta held in Alamo Plaza.

The Truck That Started It All
We have a tradition at Sweb: Every Friday, we all take a break from the awesome web, mobile, and social work we do, and the entire team sits down to eat lunch together. Our absolute favorite spot is El Tacomiendo, the taco truck-in-residence at Artpace.
We still haven’t figured out what’s more enticing - the owner, Alma’s warm, friendly customer service, or her husband’s incredible food. From al pastor (which, according to our resident taco expert, Tirso, is the best in San Antonio) to carne guisada, we’ve loved every bite! Our mouths are watering just thinking about it.
Stop by, and tell Alma Sweb sent you: Fridays at Artpace. 12-2
